Bowing or tilting of your foundation walls is typically caused by problems with the soil. Whether it’s too dry, too wet, or is a shifting soil, your foundation walls can really be affected by the soil surrounding them. Big weather events and damage to your foundation due to your soil expanding or contracting usually correlate directly to each other. Shifting soils also exist, and they will absorb liquid and expand and shift. Clay soil, for example, expands when it absorbs too much liquid. This expansion forces your foundation or basement walls to move inward, creating a bulge or slope.

Wall Reinforcement System Explained

In addition to being unsightly, bowing and tilting walls are dangerous to you and your family. Without proper repair, the wall can collapse and cause big damage to your property. Bowing walls are never something to ignore, and it’s important to consider all your options for repair. One option for repair is a wall reinforcement system. Our wall reinforcement system is made from Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (10x stronger than steel) and its purpose is to reinforce the walls from the inside. We will install the reinforcement system inside and leave your yard and your landscaping intact outside.

KC Waterproofing only uses the best products available. We use CarbonArmor® and ArmorLock™ for all of our wall reinforcement jobs. These two products can work to prevent your walls from bowing further and correct current damage. They are strong, durable, and can usually be covered up with a coat of paint after they are installed to make them almost seamless in your basement.

Installation Process

Step 1: Prepare the wall surface.

Step 2: Measure the wall and cut the CarbonArmor® to the proper length.

Step 3: Saturate CarbonArmor® and the wall with epoxy.

Step 4: Strap the CarbonArmor® onto the wall.

Step 5: Place a final coat of epoxy on the finished setup.

Step 6 (optional): Connect the CarbonArmor® to the ArmorLock™ for extra durability.
